Abstract(s)
XIX e inícios do séc. XIX e inícios do séc.
This final report was developed within the scope of the Master's degree in Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and in Portuguese and History and Geography of Portugal in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education, taught at the Higher School of Education. The research presented in this report was developed from the issue – The study of the industrialization of the city in the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, using the exploration of the industrial patrimony built in the city of Lisbon, contributes to the development of historical-geographical skills and critical thinking in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. Thus, the following research objectives were outlined: (i) To understand the contributions of the industrial patrimony built in the city of Lisbon as a resource for constructing knowledge about the city's industrialization process in the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century; (ii) To analyze how the strategies and activities implemented using the industrial patrimony contribute to the development of historical-geographical skills and (iii) To reflect on the contributions of the strategies and activities that mobilized the industrial patrimony as a resource for developing critical thinking skills. The methodology used for the development of this study was qualitative, involving content analysis conducted based on the planning of the didactic sequences and the written productions of the students. The results obtained allowed us to understand that the study of the patrimony using investigative activities, enhances the development of historical-geographical skills, namely: using different sources of information; selecting, organizing, and processing information of diverse nature; locating political, economic, social, cultural and natural phenomenons in space and time; mobilizing historical and geographical vocabulary; question situations from the past and present and build well-founded arguments that support viewpoints/positions.
