Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT - This document intends to be the proposal for the internship that take place in the school year 2018/2019, intended in the Internship Curricular Units I and II, within the Master’s Degree Course in Dance Teaching (7th edition), lectured by the Superior School of Dance from the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon. The educational institution selected to develop this internship was the Dance School Lugar Presente, in Viseu, with students from the 6th, 7th and 8th grades that attend the specialized artistic education in dance. The educational intervention was developed in the subject of Choreographic Atelier, bearing in mind a total body and a present face. Therefore, the proposal intends to endow students with technical and artistical skills necessary for an interpreter of contemporary dance. Considering the actual paradigm of contemporary dance, it is increasingly necessary to have students competent at a technical level, but also at an interpretative level, allowing the all body to be a source of emotions and meanings and not merely bodies without any expressive weight. Combined to the technique, which is essential, it is intended to consolidate the student’s interpretative and expressive side, trying to preserve something very important in dance, the individuality. This way, it will be possible for students and future dancers express themselves and exteriorize emotions that can reach the spectator, invigorating and narrowing the dancer-spectator relationship. To achieve the proposal, an Investigation-Action methodology was used, invoking different instruments for data collection, such as, observation grids, logbooks, video recording, photography and discussion groups. Through these instruments it was possible to register the primary objectives of this proposal: the expressiveness and the interpretation of the body and the face.
