Abstract(s)
1.º e no 2.º CEB.
Summary Developing skills for collecting and processing information for learning History and Geography in the 1st and 2nd Cycle of Basic Education Collecting and processing information in History and Geography should be developed by students of the 1st and 2nd cycle of basic education. The study now presented was carried out in two educational settings under Supervised Teaching Practice II and aimed to verify how investigative methodologies can contribute to the development of collecting information skills for the learning of History and Geography in the 1st and 2nd cycles of Basic Education. The methodological decisions taken in the course of this study relate to an approach to the paradigm of a research-action methodology, and a literature review was also performed so as to be able to give the notion of “research methodologies”. The results of this study allowed to conclude that in both educational contexts the students developed skills for collecting and processing information for learning History and Geography. However, it should be noted that in the 1st Cycle students revealed the ability to collect and process information, while in the 2nd Cycle students showed greater difficulties in processing information.
