Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT This report stems from the intervention process in the preschool valence, experienced from the Supervised Professional Practice Curricular Unit II. As a result of a constant observation and the registration of behaviors allusive to the group, it was possible to notice that the children showed a great deal of interest in the manipulation of unstructured and semi-structured materials, creating games and interactions with them very creative. Having said that, I chose to develop a study related to this theme, with a view to understanding the importance of contact with these materials for the promotion of children's creativity. To answer this question, I went through a qualitative case study, in which three objectives were outlined: (i) "What are the potentialities of unstructured and semi-structured materials in children's play?"; (ii) "How do unstructured and semi-structured materials promote children's creativity? "; and (iii) "What strategies can the educator adopt to promote children's creativity through the exploitation of unstructured and semi-structured materials?". As for the instruments of investigation, it should be noted that I selected field notes, photographic records, interviews with a sample of educators of children and children and, also, content analysis. Through the present study, I understood that unstructured and semi-structured materials are quite veritable in the moments of play, presenting several potentialities, among them, the promotion of creativity. Considering the multiplicity of potentialities of these materials, it is relevant that the educator resorts to them to promote children's creativity. I believe that both the intervention and the realization of this report proved essential for the construction of my professionality, to the extent that I had the opportunity to reflect on my practice and adapt it to the context in which I was inserted. In addition, I believe that the development of this research has given me great learning opportunities, as I have appropriated a range of knowledge that I hope to put into practice soon.
