Abstract(s)
O estudo apresenta a interpretação do raciocínio estatístico
ABSTRACT This study sought to understand and characterize the statistical reasoning of 5 and 6 year old children. The study presents the interpretation of the revealed statistical reasoning revealed by children throughout the analysis of their interpretations. We first start to review and discuss the theoretical concept of statistical reasoning, the principles of the learning environment for promoting children development and the role of representations, as well as the organization and data analysis characteristics. This qualitative study is based on an interpretative approach. The data collection was conducted in 2015 by an participatory observation and document analysis. The results suggest that the majority of the children acknowledge the different types of data representations, identify the names of different types of data and know how to explain the different representations. As for the two small projects of statistical research conducted, children considered the different phases of the research and were able to represent and interpret the collected data. Some children were concerned about organizing and classifying the data during the data collection. One child has autonomously organized the data collected in on table of frequencies. The children evidenced to have a statistical reasoning about the data and data representation.
