Abstract(s)
O compositor Fernando Lopes Graça (1906-1994) foi um autor prolífico logo a partir
dos anos 20, sobretudo como ensaísta. Sobre o ensino da música, transparecem inequívoca
e convictamente na sua obra literária os seus ideais educativos, os objectivos e as estratégias
para os concretizar. Este artigo incide na ligação entre (1) Lopes Graça e o ensino da música
em Portugal, recolhe as suas ideias sobre (2) a contribuição para a educação musical do
“folclorismo científico”, (3) da “canção popular portuguesa”, (4) da música tradicional e da
prática coral e (5) dos compositores de “música portuguesa”, e sumariza o que escreveu
sobre as ligações entre (6) música, educação e cultura, e sobre o (7) ensino da música em
Portugal e os seus problemas.
ABSTRACT - The composer Fernando Lopes Graça (1906-1994) was a prolific author of essays, starting from the 1920s. In several essays concerning music teaching, he states his educational ideals, goals and strategies to achieve them. The present article focuses on (1) Lopes Graça and music teaching in Portugal, and sums up his ideas on (2) the contribution to musical education of the “folclorismo científico”, (3) of the “canção popular portuguesa”, (4) of traditional music and choir singing and his ideas on (5) composers of “música portuguesa”, on (6) relations between music, education and culture, and on (7) music education in Portugal and its problems.
