Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT - The main focus of this study is the analysis of the poetic and dramaturgical potential of film sound figures considering the materiality of different layers of a soundtrack, reflecting essentially on voice-over, but also dialogues, music and sound effects, as well as silence, in order to reveal the articulations that sound elements establish among themselves and with the image. The film chosen to reflect on the issues raised above and that truly poses a challenge regarding this investigation is the feature film “India Song” by Marguerite Duras, which contains a narrative that is lyrically and dramatically constructed from a sound perspective, creating tones that configure different time layers in conjunction with memory. This investigation was prompted by the project of a short film that also intends to develop these levels of figuration through sound.
