Abstract(s)
The economic market is increasingly competitive, which leads companies to analyze and act on internal and external factors in order to look for the best options to achieve their goals. Furthermore, there is a continuous demand from partners and customers, which compel companies to seek to satisfy their requirements, ensuring excellence in their activities. This is where Quality standards emerge, with the aim of helping companies to improve their processes and to implement principles of continuous improvement through the implementation of a Quality Management System. Over the years, the ISO Guidelines for quality management have undergone several revisions, and the current version ISO 9001: 2015 introduces the risk assessment and management process. In this work, the risk-based thinking was contextualized, based on its application in an industrial context, namely, in the company BIOSOG, S.A.. It was made the diagnosis of risk assessment and risk management in the production process of the organization. Several risk management tools were studied and compared, and two techniques were selected that showed to be suitable for the implementation in the organization. The techniques used were Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results obtained by FMEA and AHP were discussed, pointing the advantages and disadvantages of each one in the context in which they were applied. The implementation of these two tools proved that they are important techniques for assessing and managing risk, allowing the organization to take preventive actions in the production process.
