Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT - The techniques of contemporary dance are a constituent module of the curricula of the Portuguese artistic schools managed by the State, inserted in the course Dance Techniques or Theatrical Dance Techniques. The objective of this study was, on the one hand, to reflect on the current reality of the educational systems in this practice and, on the other hand, to present a proposal for action translated into guidelines for contemporary dance techniques. We understand that the reality of the practice of schools and teachers is varied because of their pedagogical autonomy and, therefore, it is vital to achieve a systematization and analysis of this type of education in the national context. To this end, an investigation was presented which focused on the qualitative and quantitative approaches from the analysis of surveys via questionnaires to schools, curricula and interviews with teachers of the national artistic schools, identifying what distinguishes them and what makes them similar in the context of contemporary dance techniques. The interpretative analysis of the data has allowed us to define the reality of contemporary dance techniques in the Portuguese artistic education, elucidating differences, problematics and capital gains of the eclectic practices of schools and teachers, as well as create a proposal for a hybrid intervention between positions and strategies adopted at present. To illustrate the reality of the Portuguese artistic education, from primary education to higher education, this proposal focuses on a set of strategies for teachers of contemporary dance techniques in the creation and organization of their methods and adequacy of schools to their contexts. This aims to support schools and teachers in the construction and organization of their methods, depending on your path and the inherent scientific validation, adapting them to the different contexts where they belong. We conclude that bringing the schools and teachers closer to the contemporary art practice contributes to a dynamic artistic State educational system, where the mutation of the teaching and learning of the techniques of contemporary dance assumes fundamental proportions in dance training. A balanced reflection that we have presented so that the artistic and educational thoughts act in accordance with what the various proposals from each school are.
