Abstract(s)
This paper focuses on principles, processes and practices in artistic education, developed with 1st year students of the Degree in Basic Education. Returning from an experience of school dematerialization, we proposed paths taken by Lourdes Castro as an inducer. It then seemed to us to be a significant reference, as it marked the new beginning in the face-to-face teaching activity, due to the multiplicity of processes employed by the artist to rethink reality – we now revisit the work developed by the students, as a tribute to the vision of transforming sense that is the legacy of Lourdes Castro. Methodologically, we assume the importance of experimenting with artistic processes in the future educator training, irrespective of his area of study, confronting him with artistic issues in an Arts Based Educational Research process. In addition to production, artistic practice is not only part of a problematization process, it is also structuring to the development of any form of thought, thus declaring creative processes as investigative and discovery resources. In this way, we propose the work of Lourdes Castro as a reference, due to the variety of approaches and practices, in order to make some creative and artistic processes understood as investigative. Based on the contents and examples discussed in class, the students developed exploratory studies. Assuming as a methodological principle the study and material experimentation of artistic processes, an experimental project was developed with the aims of maturing creative competences and of promoting a transforming action of consciences and practices.
