| dc.description.abstract | Atualmente os sistemas de produção alimentar são caracterizados por uma produção animal intensiva, o frequente uso de máquinas (como no caso da agriculura) e a dependência em recursos externos (fertilizantes..). Tais metodologias contribuíram para uma rápida reprodução e um crescimento intensivo, levando a uma rápida productividade a preços acessiveis. No entanto, com o aumento da população estima-se que a “exigência por alimentos” aumente entre 59 e 98% até 2050. A questão é, será possível satisfazer tais exigências no futuro? O aumento do consumo promove a necessidade de produzir mais alimentos, assim as indústrias necessitam de utilizar mais recursos naturais para esse fim. Por outro lado, a taxa de reposição de recursos não acompanha a taxa de consumo, pelo que os recursos se tornarão escassos com o decorrer do tempo. | pt_PT |
