Abstract(s)
O relatório de estágio que aqui se apresenta tem como principais objetivos descrever e analisar criticamente as atividades desenvolvidas enquanto jornalista estagiária na SIC, e dar conta do exercício investigativo que resultou dessa experiência profissional. O estágio decorreu na redação de informação da Sociedade Independente de Comunicação (SIC), em Carnaxide, entre 8 de janeiro e 7 de julho de 2018 e foi desenvolvido nas seguintes secções: SIC Notícias online, fins-de-semana e Primeiro Jornal.
O objetivo do exercício investigativo foi traçar o perfil sociográfico dos jornalistas da SIC. Este tópico de investigação acompanha, de algum modo, o crescente interesse, em particular nas últimas três décadas, da investigação académica sobre o perfil sociológico dos jornalistas portugueses. Procurou-se nesta pesquisa perceber se o corpo de jornalistas da SIC acompanha ou não as principais tendências sociológicas destes profissionais que têm vindo a ser identificadas pela vasta literatura nacional neste domínio
A interrogação central que orientou a investigação foi: Quem são os jornalistas da SIC? Procurou-se identificar aspetos da sua composição e estratificação socioprofissional tendo em conta parâmetros como a distribuição por sexo, idade, habilitações académicas, antiguidade, as funções e os cargos que desempenham. Observámos que, regra geral, o perfil sociográfico dos jornalistas da SIC acompanha as principais tendências identificadas na literatura nacional: é um conjunto profissional com uma média de idade relativamente jovem, experiente, educado, e maioritariamente composto por mulheres.
ABSTRACT: The main goal of this internship report is to describe and critically analyze the activities developed as a trainee journalist at SIC, a portuguese news channel, also knowed as Sociedade Independente de Comunicação. This report also aims to presente an investigative exercise that resulted from that professional experience. The internship took place in the newsroom of SIC, in Carnaxide, from January 8th to July 7th of 2018. The purpose of the investigation was to outline a sociographic profile of SIC’s journalists. It’s safe to say that this research topic follows a growing interest, specially in the last three decades, in academic researches on the sociological profile of portuguese journalists. The main goal of this research was to understand whether or not SIC’s board of journalists follows the main sociological trends among these professionals that have been identified by a vast national literature on this field. The central question that guided this investigation was: Who are SIC’s journalists? We focused on trying to identify aspects of their composition and socio-professional stratification, taking into account parameters such as the distribution by sex, age, academic qualifications, seniority, the functions and positions they perform. We have reach the conclusion that, in general, the sociological profile of SIC’s journalists follows the main trends identified in the national literature: it’s a professional group with a relatively young age averaged, experient, educated and mostly composed by women.
