ABSTRACT: In Portugal, during the last few decades, the vocational education of dance has been evolving according to an overview of enormous transformations due to the establishment of new specialized dance schools that have achieved a growing maturity and prestige which go beyond the schools that already existed. This qualitative change has been gaining notoriety worldwide, and what we state presently is an unprecedented phenomenon of search of professional formation/education in our main national schools by an increasing number of foreign students. It is in this context that the main motivation for the foundation of this Internship appears, placing it in the field of the Contemporary Dance Technique and, in particular, in a teaching/learning process with a multicultural educational scenario, distinguished for including a considerable group of students of Japanese origin, without TDCont curriculum and that came to Portugal with the only intention of studying dance. In this context, the most important objective of the Internship was to achieve educational strategies which were, on one hand, efficient in the lecturing of the necessary knowledge to fulfill the acknowledged curricular flaw, but which would also consider the cultural plurality, the differences in technical level between national and foreign students and the mitigation of discriminations and discouragements in the teaching room, without neglecting the high level of technical demand requested. Due to the singularity of the Internship, the choice of the receiving institution confined itself to the EDCN since it has the exclusivity of the target problem, and so the study was directed to the two finalist levels of the specialized artistic education - 7 th and 8 th grades - which had mixed classes in gender and nationality. The clarification of the results were based on the Methodology of Investigation-Action, which instrumentalized by Logbooks, observation tables and video records, allowed the investigator to be involved and competent in the qualitative transformation of the reality of the subjects and in the contribution of more fruitful teaching practices.
