Atravessamos uma fase em que a tecnologia tem grande impacto na vida das pessoas,
quer a nível laboral, quer a nível pessoal. Com o uso massivo da tecnologia, a importância
de analisar dados aumentou e originou o conceito de Big Data. Numa simples compra
online, desde o momento em que é iniciada a pesquisa até ao envio da encomenda, vamos
deixando pelo caminho “migalhas de informação” impossíveis de apagar e que traçam
padrões comportamentais, padrões estes que podem ser muito úteis para as empresas. As
organizações encontram-se em constante mutação e aprendizagem, e as inovações
tecnológicas são primordiais para o conhecimento do mercado contribuindo como fator
fundamental para atingirem o seu principal objetivo que é o lucro. É fundamental
conhecer as empresas concorrentes e perceber os gostos dos clientes, pelo que o Big Data
pode ser um aliado de peso. Esta dissertação aborda o conceito e a aplicabilidade do Big
Data nas organizações, o objetivo principal é entender as vantagens do uso de ferramentas
de Big Data, no que à competitividade empresarial diz respeito, bem como os principais
impactos resultantes da utilização das mesmas.
We are going through a phase where technology has a significant impact on people's lives, both in the workplace and personally. With the widespread use of technology, the importance of data analysis has increased, giving rise to the concept of Big Data. In a simple online purchase, from the moment the search is initiated until the order is shipped, we leave behind “information crumbs” that are impossible to erase, creating behavioural patterns. These patterns can be extremely useful for companies. Organizations are in constant change and learning, and technological innovations are essential for market knowledge, serving as a key factor in achieving their main goal, which is profit. It is crucial to understand competing companies and recognize customer preferences, where Big Data can be a powerful ally. This dissertation addresses the concept and applicability of Big Data in organizations, with the main goal of understanding the advantages of using Big Data tools in terms of business competitiveness, as well as the main impacts resulting from their use.
