Abstract(s)
Com o presente estudo, pretende-se refletir sobre as potencialidades do recurso à metodologia
de Trabalho de Projeto para o desenvolvimento de noções e competências de Cidadania
na área disciplinar de Estudo do Meio do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico (CEB). Define-se como
grande finalidade conhecer e compreender de que modo a prática de uma metodologia
de trabalho ativa e uma abordagem a partir do Estudo do Meio contribuem para que os alunos
desenvolvam competências associadas ao exercício da Cidadania.
Recorrendo à observação participante, à análise documental, à entrevista e ao inquérito
por questionário, foi possível caracterizar a turma na qual se procedeu a este estudo exploratório,
avaliar os seus progressos e analisar as conclusões relativamente às questões da investigação
definidas.
Os resultados da investigação sugerem que o desenvolvimento de competências
de Cidadania pelos alunos, a partir da área disciplinar de Estudo do Meio e com recurso
à metodologia de Trabalho de Projeto, se revela positivo na componente relativa à prática
da Cidadania, nomeadamente nas dimensões do questionamento individual, da escola e da vida
em sociedade.
Project work in Social Studies in the 1st cycle of basic education for the development of citizenship skills The present study aims to reflect on the potential of Project Work methodology for the development of Citizenship notions and competencies in the subject area of Social Studies of the 1st cycle of basic education. It is defined as a major purpose to know and understand how the practice of an active methodology of work and an approach from the social environmental studies contribute to develop skills associated with the exercise of citizenship. Using participant observation, document analysis, interviews and questionnaire surveys, it was possible to characterize the class where this exploratory study was made and to evaluate its progress and analyse the conclusions of the research issues. The result suggests that the development of citizenship competencies, by students from the subject area of Social Studies, and the use of project work methodology is positive regarding the practice of citizenship, in respect to individual questioning, school and social life dimensions.
