Abstract(s)
Neste trabalho traça-se o percurso de Maria Ramos como bailarina e coreógrafa, dando-se relevância às práticas e metodologias utilizadas pela autora na criação das suas peças coreográficas, tendo por base os trabalhos 7pm/Rumour e Something Still Uncaptured. Inspirada pelas reflexões do escultor Antony Gormley sobre os paradoxos da escultura e a relação do corpo com o espaço, a coreógrafa desenvolveu uma concepção coreográfica própria, testando os princípios basilares da coreografia e expandindo esse pensamento coreográfico para o campo mais alargado da contemporaneidade artística. Essa sua pesquisa explora a relação do corpo e do espaço na coreografia, questionando a natureza desses elementos e como se potenciam mutuamente. Para além disso, cria o conceito de paisagem-em-acção como hipótese de construção coreográfica, em que a pesquisa coreográfica procura uma abordagem não antropocêntrica, tratando todos os elementos no espaço performativo como um ‘corpo’ em movimento e mutação. Com esta abordagem, a coreógrafa visa potenciar a acção e o movimento, provocando o pensamento coreográfico. Este estudo destaca, também, a importância da prática artística como locus de produção de conhecimento e como investigação. Neste estudo sublinha-se, ainda, a relevância da experiência profissional e do conhecimento prático adquirido ao longo da trajetória artística da autora, para o ensino da dança.
ABSTRACT - This paper traces the trajectory of Maria Ramos' career as a dancer and choreographer, highlighting the practices and methodologies used by the author in the creation of her choreographic pieces, based on the works 7pm/Rumour and Something Still Uncaptured. Inspired by sculptor Antony Gormley's reflections on the paradoxes of sculpture and the body's relationship to space, the choreographer has developed her own choreographic concept, testing the basic principles of choreography and extending this choreographic thinking into the wider field of artistic contemporaneity. Her research explores the relationship between body and space in choreography, questioning the nature of these elements and how they reinforce each other. She also develops the concept of landscape-in-action as a hypothesis for choreographic construction, in which choreographic research seeks a non-anthropocentric approach, treating all elements in the performance space as a 'body' in movement and mutation. With this approach, the choreographer aims to enhance action and movement and to provoke choreographic thinking. This study also emphasizes the importance of artistic practice as a site of knowledge production and research. This study also highlights the relevance of the professional experience and practical knowledge gained throughout the author's artistic career to dance education.
