Abstract(s)
indicadores.
artística; ao próprio currículo geral não valorizar, significativamente, a educação artística;
Abstract: The thesis “Creative expression in graphic self-representation”, applied to students of the 2nd cycle of Basic Education, aimed at the analysis of didactic strategies to obtain expressive and creative results, in the representation of the self-portrait, through the exploration of 7 auxiliary techniques of expression. The productions were evaluated by a jury of 3 external evaluators, who used a graphic creativity assessment instrument, designed for this purpose, and consisting of 5 categories and 17 corresponding indicators. The evaluation has allowed us to conclude that, in the light of the practical proposals presented, all pupils showed a medium degree of creativity in meeting the challenges and have improved their involvement in the tasks proposed. It was also recognized that the students also manifested in their productions, graphic solutions characteristics of the previous stage of development, the schematic, and that these were evolving towards a better notion of the observer/object relationship throughout the project. According to the data recovered, these outcomes may be dued, amongst others, to the school’s low investment in artistic education, with few school hours; to an academic progression with gaps poor in artistic education activities; to the way in which the general curriculum does not significantly value artistic education; to the fact that the majority of students have not attended pre-school education, where artistic practices have a privileged place; as well as the group’s very disadvantaged social environment, with little to none cultural stimulation provided by the families.
