O relatório de estágio que aqui se apresenta tem como principal objetivo aferir se o jornalismo no terreno é ou não um fator diferenciador na qualidade do jornalismo praticado no Primeiro Jornal da SIC. Este foi um exercício investigativo que resultou do estágio curricular realizado na estação televisiva. Haverá também, por isso, espaço para descrever e analisar criticamente as atividades desenvolvidas enquanto jornalista estagiária da estação. O estágio decorreu na redação de informação da Sociedade Independente de Comunicação (SIC), em Paço de Arcos, entre 12 de abril e 9 de julho de 2021. Foi desenvolvido na secção do Primeiro Jornal e pontualmente no programa Opinião Pública e nos fins-de-semana.
Este tema revela-se pertinente de ser estudado uma vez que nas últimas décadas, fruto de uma digitalização dos meios de trabalho jornalístico, se observaram mudanças significativas ao nível dos métodos de trabalho numa redação, nomeadamente na forma como se obtêm as informações e o conteúdo para a construção de uma peça, se de uma forma mais presencial ou mais distante e tecnológica. Para além disso, a ida para o terreno é um método muito presente na forma como se faz jornalismo. Por ser um fator estrutural e intemporal, pretende-se caracterizar a evolução que tem tido ao longo das últimas décadas e analisar tendências futuras sobre o mesmo.
Observei pela minha experiência de estágio que a ida para o terreno é útil e benéfica, quer do ponto de vista do contributo audiovisual, quer no que respeita ao contributo no conteúdo textual. Esta conclusão vai ao encontro da opinião do coordenador do Primeiro Jornal e é parcialmente concordante com os estudos académicos que têm sido feitos nesta temática.
ABSTRACT: This internship report has the purpose to assess whether journalism in the field is or not a differentiating factor in the quality of journalism produced at SIC First Journal(1). This was an investigative exercise that resulted from the curricular internship carried out at that channel station. Therefore, there is also space to describe and critically analyze the activities developed as a trainee journalist during the internship. The internship took place in the newsroom of Independent Society of Communication (SIC), in Paço de Arcos, between 12 April and 9 July 2021. It was developed in the First Journal section and occasionally in the Public Opinion program and on weekends, as well. This theme is relevant to be studied because in recent decades, as a result of the digitalization of the journalistic work, some changes had occurred. For example, the working methods in a newsroom had changed and the way how information and content are obtained is different nowadays. Sometimes, journalists work more intensively on a presential base, others they work more on a distant and technological base, when it refers to gathering the relevant information to produce the news. Besides that, working on the field is still a very actual method in the way journalism is done. Having this in mind, and considerating its structural and timeless role, this work focuses as well on characterizing its evolution over the last decades and analyse trends in the future regarding the on-the-job reporting. Observation from my internship shows that going to the field is useful and beneficial, from the point of view of the audiovisual contribution and from the point of view regarding the textual information collected in the field. This conclusion is in line with the opinion of the First Journal coordinator and is partially in agreement with the academic studies that have been carried out on this subject.
