Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT - The following essay was developed within the scope I and II of the Curriculum Internship Units incorporated in the Dance Teaching Masters (8th edition) and it presents an internship report in which the main study focus was physically initiated during the school year 2019/2020, within Classical Dance Technics. The main research target were High School students (6th, 7th and 8th grade of artistic education) from Lugar Presente (Dance school located in Viseu, Portugal). With the evolution of an individual seen as an interconnection between social environment, language and culture, it was intended to let the students experience new situations within a strict dance technique by providing them a chance of sharing work amongst themselves and being cooperative during classes. The classes were planned according to the traditional structure of a Classical Dance Technique combined with cooperative strategies during the teaching. This internship had as main goal the use of cooperative strategies, connoted to social-constructivism, as strategies that could improve some movement technical difficulties seen in the target class, such as feet work, balance, body axis and jump range. In order to substantiate this internship, it was used the Investigation methodology which allies qualitative and quantitative investigation and as tools to collect data they used the Direct Observation, Observation charts, Inquiries, Journal and Video. According to the internship theme it was intended to allow the students to experience a learning experience based in diverse cooperative approaches that would enable them to analize and improve their movement technique performance and quality by the use of established interpersonal relationship which holds the free individual expression to achieve a social communication according to the pedagogy and principles in which the Movement of the Modern school is based on. The work developed throughout the internship shows that the students are capable of overcome body posture and movement difficulties and accomplish the previously set goals, in the sense that is was clearly visible a short term evolution in each class, transformed in a long term one.
