Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT This report emerges from the Supervised Professional Practice II which took place in a kindergarten context between October 18, 2021, and February 18, 2022. Its main objective is to analyze the course taken with a group of children aged between three and six years old and with the educational team, in an educational context that follows the HighScope approach. Throughout this document, I will describe, substantiate, analyze, and evaluate the practice I developed in the context in question, presenting the characterization of the context and its actors, the intentions I set for my intervention, the research developed and, finally, the construction of teaching professionalism and the final considerations. The problem investigated, throughout the practice, emerged from the observations made, with the main objective of understanding and analyzing the triggering factors of moments of conflict and the role of the adult in resolving them, identifying, and analyzing the strategies used. This is a case study and corresponds to an empirical and qualitative research that studies a current phenomenon in a real-life context (Yin, 1994). Data collection techniques and instruments were used, such as direct observation (with the registration of field notes and, in turn, content analysis), three semi-structured interviews to kindergarten educators, and document consultation. Through the analysis performed, it was possible to verify that conflicts are caused by several factors that include, for example, sharing toys, differences of opinion, difficulty in sharing and verbalizing/identifying feelings, among others. The adult has a crucial role in resolving them, to the extent that he/she will be the model from which children will acquire the necessary skills.
