Este relatório acompanha o desenvolvimento de um projeto fílmico intitulado “Pombo Perdido”, através do qual pergunto o que é a escolha da realidade no cinema documental.
O projeto, uma curta-metragem meta-documental - atualmente em fase de montagem - é sobre um realizador que faz um filme sobre possibilidades narrativas daquilo que documenta: a sua própria vida, o cultivo da cannabis no norte de Marrocos e o comportamento dos pombos.
Acompanhando o meu primeiro ano como pai, este trabalho é uma tentativa de reimaginação da realidade deste tempo concreto da minha vida, numa sucessão de variações, duplos e transgressões narrativas encaixadas en-abyme.
Reflexo de uma época profundamente narcisista, em que a câmara e o ecrã se tornaram ubíquos, o projeto que aqui apresento é a minha tentativa de figurar a escolha do real no cinema através de um objeto fílmico que nos sugere que a realidade é apenas uma invenção que reside em cada um de nós.
ABSTRACT - This report follows the development of a film project entitled “Pombo Perdido” (Lost Pigeon), through which I question what constitutes the choice of reality in documentary cinema. The project, a meta-documentary short film—currently in the editing phase—is about a director who makes a film about the narrative possibilities of what he documents: his own life, cannabis cultivation in northern Morocco, and the behavior of pigeons. Accompanying my first year as a father, this work is an attempt to reimagine the reality of this specific time of my life, in a succession of variations, doubles, and narrative transgressions embedded en-abyme. Reflecting a deeply narcissistic era, in which the câmara and the screen have become ubiquitous, the project I present is my attempt to depict the choice of reality in cinema through a filmic object that suggests that reality is just an invention that resides in each of us.
