Abstract(s)
A Liderança das mulheres em cargos superiores no contexto empresarial afeta o sexo feminino mundialmente com destaque em Portugal, independentemente do seu setor, dimensão e localização. Neste sentido, a presente dissertação de mestrado tem como propósito o estudo da liderança das mulheres portuguesas e as suas implicações.
Na sociedade portuguesa da atualidade, a ideia da mulher dedicada em exclusivo às tarefas domésticas, nomeadamente ao papel de mãe tende a ser cada vez menos comum.
Contudo, a representação da mulher na vida familiar é, ainda, considerada como um obstáculo no acesso das mulheres aos cargos de liderança de topo.
Sendo o setor bancário um dos mais afetados pela problemática em estudo, que nos últimos anos tem vindo a ser tomado em consideração, uma vez que nos dias de hoje a diferença de géneros nos cargos de topo tende a diminuir.
Com a elaboração das entrevistas realizadas, parece concluir-se que apesar de existirem avanços significativos na igualdade de género, existe uma menor presença da mulher nos quadros superiores da Administração Pública e nos quadros superiores e chefia das empresas.
The leadership of women, in senior positions, in the business context affects females worldwide, especially in Portugal, regardless of their sector, dimension, and location. In this sense, the purpose of this master's dissertation is to study the leadership of Portuguese women and its implications. In today's Portuguese society, the idea of a woman exclusively dedicated to household chores, namely the mother role, tends to be less common. However, the representation of women in family life is still considered an obstacle to women's access to top leadership positions. The banking sector is one of the most affected by the problem under study, which in recent years has been taken into account since, nowadays, the gender gap in top positions tends to decrease. With the elaboration of the interviews carried out, it seems to be concluded that although there are significant advances in gender equality, there is a lower presence of women in the senior management of Public Administration and in the senior management and leadership of companies.
