Durante o período do Estado Novo Português, várias foram as pessoas que, conscientemente, mergulharam na clandestinidade, apresentando-se ao mundo debaixo de uma camada de ficção, mais ou menos diluída, que precisavam manter credível sob perigo de vida. “Eu não sou eu nem sou o outro. Sou qualquer coisa de intermédio”, tal como no poema de Mário de Sá Carneiro, tal como o ator, esse lugar de performatividade faz também parte da existência clandestina. O teatro, na sua génese, é, segundo Erika Fischer-Lichte, uma combinação de dois planos: o da representação e o da realidade, que coexistem sempre em tensão durante o ato teatral. Esta tensão é a responsável por vermos, não ao mesmo tempo mas intercaladamente, o ator e o personagem em cena. Amor e Formigas é um espetáculo estreado em Setembro de 2024, em formato site-specific, fruto de uma investigação sobre os casais que viveram clandestinamente durante a ditadura portuguesa. Este relatório reflete sobre as estratégias encontradas pelos criadores na procura de adensar a tensão realidade-ficção durante a construção do espetáculo.
ABSTRACT - During the period of the Portuguese Estado Novo (Portuguese New State), several people consciously immersed themselves into clandestinity, presenting themselves to the world under a layer of fiction, more or less diluted, which they needed to keep credible at the risk of their own lives. ‘I'm not me nor the other. I am something in between,’ as in Mário de Sá Carneiro's poem, as in what relates to the Actor, that place of performativity is also part of the clandestine existence. Theatre, in its genesis, is, according to Erika Fischer-Lichte, a combination of two planes: that of representation and that of reality, which always coexist in tension during the theatrical act. This tension is responsible for us seeing the actor and the character on stage, not at the same time, but interchangeably. Amor e Formigas (Love and ants) is a play that premiered in September 2024, in a site-specific format, being the result of research into couples who lived clandestinely during the Portuguese dictatorship. This report reflects on the strategies found by its creators in their quest to heighten the reality-fiction tension during the construction of the play.
