Encontramo-nos, em pleno século XXI, perante uma nova revolução que alterará radicalmente a forma como vivemos, trabalhamos e nos relacionamos. A indústria 4.0, também conhecida por quarta revolução industrial, é caracterizada pelo conjunto de tecnologias e sistemas inteligentes que dão origem a mudanças profundas nos sistemas de produção e nos modelos de negócio das empresas. Conceitos como a IoT, Big Data e
Inteligência Artificial estão cada vez mais presentes no nosso cotidiano e das empresas e compete a estas últimas analisar as mudanças de mercado e procurarem a melhor forma de adaptarem as suas estratégias para que possam aproveitar o potencial desta grande transformação.
O setor bancário tem conseguido modificar o seu modelo negócio ao longo do tempo, tendo em conta as exigências do mercado, mas deverá estar atento a novas ameaças que poderão emergir com o crescente desenvolvimento tecnológico. Existem, ainda, preocupações crescentes, pois, à medida que a Indústria 4.0 se aprofunda e se relaciona com a vida profissional dos indivíduos, mais incertos estes ficam quanto ao futuro do seu trabalho e mais se questionam a acerca da sua real importância dentro das instituições.
Com o presente estudo, entende-se, a partir da perceção dos colaboradores de uma instituição bancária específica, que a evolução tecnológica tem gerado benefícios no decorrer dos anos até à atualidade, mas poderá causar adversidades, como a extinção de determinadas funções.
Os profissionais apresentam incertezas quanto ao futuro das suas funções, mas mantêm-se esperançosos e acreditam ser um recurso valioso para a sua instituição.
We find ourselves, in the middle of the 21st century, facing a new revolution that will radically change the way we live, work and relate to each other. Industry 4.0, also known as the fourth industrial revolution, is characterized by the joint of technologies and intelligent systems that give rise to profound changes in production systems and business models of the companies. Concepts such as IoT, Big Data and artificial intelligence are increasingly present in our daily lives and in companies, and it is up to them to analyze market changes and seek the best way to adapt their strategies so that they can take advantage of the potential of this great transformation. The banking sector has been able to modify its business model over time, taking into account market demands, but it must be alert to new threats that may emerge with increasing technological development. There are also growing concerns because, as Industry 4.0 deepens and relates to the work life of individuals, the more uncertain they become about the future of their work and the more they question their real importance within institutions. With the present study, it is understood, from the perception of the employees of a specific banking institution, that technological evolution has generated benefits over the years until the present, but may cause adversities, such as the extinction of certain functions. Professionals are uncertain about the future of their functions, but remain hopeful and believe they are a valuable resource for their institution.
