Abstract(s)
Posteriormente,
ABSTRACT Children´s group constitution in pre-school education refers to a set of aspects that, due to the absence of legally established norms for the private sector, seem relevant to know and analyze. Teachers of each educational organization have an important role in the conduct of this process, and there are just a few documents guiding their action. This study intends to contribute to the knowledge of these logics of organization, centering the research in the representations of pedagogical directors of private schools in the district of Lisbon. The main goal of this study is to describe the organizational logics on children groups in pre-school education (identified by the participants of this research), in order to characterize and analyze the concepts of school managers, the foundations to which they report and the actions which, in their perspective, underlie the formation of groups of children in pre-school education. To carry out the study, we selected qualitative research - multiple case studies - using qualitative data collection techniques, namely semi-structured interviews and documental analysis. Subsequently, we proceeded to the analysis contents, with the objective of transforming information into final considerations. The results of the study refer to age stratification as a primordial conception, facilitating the adequacy of methodologies to children's developmental level. Practices are based on normative training (particularly those that support the public sector) and curriculum guidelines. The study also reveals a democratic leadership in decision making, in which it is an integral part of the teaching staff, contributing to a more effective selection and promoting students' academic success. Common selection criteria were identified by all participants, including facility of integration, child development and behavior, age, and gender.
