Abstract(s)
Este trabalho tem por objectivo apresentar as etapas da investigação desenvolvida para um
esboço fílmico sobre a relação que alguns membros da comunidade portuguesa emigrada na
Suíça estabelecem com o automóvel, o seu objecto de sonho. E tem como contexto a obra de
alguns cineastas Ulrich Seidl, Errol Morris, Gonçalo Tocha, Ross Mc Elwee, Jean Claude
Rousseau e José Vieira ) que trabalham ideias centrais para este esboço fílmico, tais como a
noção de retrato comunitário, a presença do realizador no objecto ou o tema da emigração.
Além disso, o meu esboço é desenvolvido em resposta a um conjunto de conceitos
cinematográficos, tais como a relação entre filmar e escrever (a câmara como uma caneta), o
cruzamento entre o documentário e a ficção, e a implicação do realizador na acção.
ABSTRACT - This work aims to present the research stages for a film about the relationship some members of the Portuguese community in Switzerland entertain with the car, their dream object. This film sketch is conceived against the backdrop of several filmmake rs ( Ulrich Seidl, Errol Morris, Gonçalo Tocha, Ross McElwee, Jean C laude Rousseau and José Vieira ) whose work touches on themes that are important to me, such as the idea o f community, the filmmaker’s presence in the film, or the question of emigration. Furthermore, my film sketch is developed in response to a number of theoretical ideas, like the analogy between filming and writing (the camera as a pen), the relationship be tween documentary and fiction films, and the implication of the filmmaker in the story.
