A presença da inteligência artificial nas narrativas mediáticas tem suscitado interesse na análise das formas como o sujeito se constitui e se representa em relação às máquinas. No âmbito da ficção televisiva, personagens humanas estabelecem vínculos afetivos e identitários complexos com agentes artificiais, reconfigurando as fronteiras tradicionais entre o humano e o tecnológico. Este fenómeno está representado em The Big Bang Theory.Propomo-nos analisar, através da Análise de Discurso (AD) de linha francesa (Michel Pêcheux e Eni Orlandi), a forma como o sujeito fragmentado se inscreve discursivamente em relação a figuras maquínicas afectivas –concretamente, a personagem Raj Koothrappali, na sua interacção com a assistente virtual Siri. A AD analisa as formações discursivas e as posiçõesdo sujeito que emergem, evidenciando os efeitos ideológicos e as dinâmicas de poder subjacentes. Foucault e Derrida serão mobilizados para aprofundar a compreensão das práticas discursivas e da desconstrução das dicotomias clássicas entre sujeito e o outro. A análise do episódio demonstra que o discurso televisivo contribui para a construção e fragmentação do sujeito, revelando as tensões entre a presença, a ausência, o desejo e o reconhecimento e identifica regularidades e deslocamentos discursivos, ampliando a compreensão sobre a circulação e transformação dos sentidos na cultura.
ABSTRACT:The presence of artificial intelligence in media narratives has aroused considerable interest in analysing the ways in which the subject is constituted and represented in relation to machines. Within the realm of television fiction, human characters establish complex affective and identity-based bonds with artificial agents, thereby reconfiguring traditional boundaries between the human and the technological. This phenomenon is exemplified inThe Big Bang Theory.This study proposes to examine, through the framework of French Discourse Analysis (as developed by MichelPêcheuxand EniOrlandi), how the fragmentedsubject is discursively inscribed in relation to affective machinic figures–specifically, the character Raj Koothrappali in his interaction with the virtual assistant Siri. Discourse Analysis explores discursive formations and subject positions that emerge within texts, bringing to light the ideological effects and underlying power dynamics. Theoretical insights from Foucault and Derrida will be employed to deepen the understanding of discursive practices and the deconstruction of classical dichotomies between the subject and the other.The analysis of the episode demonstrates that televisual discourse contributes to both the construction and fragmentation of the subject, revealing tensions between presence and absence, desire and recognition. It identifies discursive regularities and displacements, thereby broadening our comprehension of the circulation and transformation of meaning within culture.
