Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT The present document was developed within the scope of the Curricular Unit of Supervised Professional Practice module II, integrated into the Master's Degree in Preschool Education. The Curricular Unit was held in a private kindergarten in Lisbon, with twenty two children aged 3 to 6 years old. This report aims to portray the path taken as an intern educator during six months of intervention. It includes a descriptive and reflective component of all the pedagogical action in interaction with the children, the pedagogical team, families, and the educational community. A research study was also carried out on a topic selected during the pedagogical practice. This study was in a classroom that follows the guiding principles of the Modern School Movement, thus privileging the principles defended by it, which are based on promoting children's participation through the shared management of the curriculum and surrounding environment. For that reason, it was felt the need to deepen possible strategies to achieve an educational environment that would put into practice the right to participation by each child. Therefore, deepening the subject under study allowed clarifying some concepts, namely the participation. It also made it possible to know the different levels of participation and the elements that influence it. On the other hand, it allowed analyzing the instruments and moments of the routine that enhance or not active participation. As expected, due to the dimension of the theme, this issue left several paths open concerning participatory environments and how to promote them. The report also presents a final reflection that intends to expose the construction of the professionality as a future kindergarten teacher.
