Abstract(s)
Rufar, no Seixal.
ABSTRACT The present research aims the understanding of how children evaluate a nonformal education project like Tocá Rufar, in Seixal. This project is based on a case study with 26 children and young people between the age of 08-17 and it is in line with the theoretical assumptions of Social Education and Sociology of Childhood. The main purpose is to map the conceptions and dispositions of the children about a project in which they take part, in order to promote a co-participation in the assessment. So, the children will be like actors and their voices will be recognized in the evaluation process. The techniques used for data collection and analysis were direct observation, interviews, focus groups and a survey. It should be noted that in the research development the methodological options were revised due the Covid-19 epidemic. The content analysis of the data collection allowed to understand how and to what extent the Project encounters the interests and dispositions of children and young people. In this context, we proceeded to analyse the results referring to a high degree of children’s satisfaction with the Tocá Rufar project. Finally, there is a set of children’s recommendations regarding the operation of the Project, and the development of strategies that require a stronger participation of them.
