Abstract(s)
A relação dos jovens com as notícias é cada vez mais complexa, especialmente entre as
novas gerações que, segundo o Digital News Report 2022, passaram a evitar a
informação, motivados sobretudo pelos sentimentos negativos que daí advém. Por outro
lado, o mesmo relatório revela que os jovens preferem informar-se através das redes
sociais, como o Instagram ou o Tik Tok, devido aos diferentes tipos de estímulos a que
são expostos, como por exemplo, o vídeo.
Com o estágio curricular na Antena 3, a esta relação complexa junta-se no presente
trabalho pretende analisar como se estabelece a relação entre jovens e rádio através do
estudo dos diários da rubrica “Domínio Público” e a perceção dos jovens relativamente a
este conteúdo.
Através de um questionário aplicado a jovens entre os 18 e os 24 anos e os 25 e os 34
anos, foi possível identificar alguns dos seus interesses, a sua relação com a rádio e as
notícias, bem como os seus formatos de consumo. Estes dados foram trabalhados com
uma análise de conteúdo feita aos diários das 11h e das 12h do “Domínio Público”, que
permitiu elencar os temas predominantes na rubrica e se estão em linha com os temas que
os jovens preferem.
Ainda que se tenha verificado uma aproximação de interesses entre o programa e as
respostas obtidas na amostra dos inquéritos analisada, a oferta musical da Antena 3, por
exemplo, apresenta-se diferente das demais rádios, o que se pode revelar menos atrativo
para os jovens inquiridos devido ao facto da programação radiofónica procurar divulgar
artistas emergentes com um tipo de sonoridade diferente.
ABSTRACT: The relationship between young people and the news has become increasingly complex, particularly among the younger generations. According to the Digital News Report 2022, they tend to avoid traditional sources of information due to the negative emotions associated with them. Conversely, the same report shows that young people often turn to social networks like Instagram or TikTok for their news, attracted by the various forms of media, including video content. My internship at Antena 3 contributes to this ongoing work, focusing on the analysis of how young people engage with radio. This study involves an examination of the content in the "Domínio Público" section, as well as an exploration of young people's perceptions of this content. Through a questionnaire administered to young people aged 18 to 24 and 25 to 34, we were able to identify their interests, their relationship with radio and news, as well as their preferred consumption formats. This data was analyzed through a content analysis of the 11am and 12pm editions of the "Domínio Público," which helped identify the predominant themes in the section and whether they align with the topics young people prefer. While there was some alignment between the program's content and the survey responses, it's worth noting that Antena 3's musical offerings differ from those of other radio stations. This distinction may make Antena 3 less appealing to the young people surveyed because its radio programming focuses on promoting emerging artists with a unique sound.
