Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT This report was developed within the course of the Supervised Teaching Practice II, part of the Master’s in Teaching the 1st Cycle of Basic Education (CBE) and Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. The first part of the report contains a description and analysis – in a reflexive way – related to the period of observation, intervention and pedagogical evaluation, developed in 1st and 2nd CBE. Regarding the Supervised Teaching Practice in the 2nd cycle, the Supervised Teaching Practice took place in two 6th grade classes, in a public institution located in Lumiar. This report also includes a study, carried out in the context of the Teaching Practice, entitled The use of social networks in teaching and learning process. For this study to be possible, it was necessary to formulate the goal of the study: Investigate the perceptions of students and guardians on the use of Instagram in Science and Mathematics classes of the 6th grade and the impact of such use on student learning. In accordance with the object of study, a mixed methodology was used, employing as techniques of data collection: informal conversations, document analysis, questionnaires, field notes, and semi-structured interviews. The collected data was treated in the light of the assumptions of Bardin's (2013) content analysis. The results of this study have identified the use of social networks in the teaching and learning process as a motivating tool, with a positive impact on the assessment of the participants’ learning.
