Abstract(s)
The main objective of the present work is to characterize the dynamic behavior of a reinforced concrete building, through numerical and experimental evaluation by analyzing and comparing the results. The study begins with the exposition of the fundamentals of the dynamics of structures: the formulations in the time domain and in the frequency domain related to a single degree of freedom system and multi degree of freedom system, and then, is shown a study of the state-space formutation related to the both system. The main concepts about vibration testing are discussed, presenting and explaining the main types (emphasizing the environmental vibration tests), the equipment used, their planning and the methodologies involved in the pre-processing and processing of experimental information. The fundamentals of modal identification are described, presenting one of the best known and appropriate methods to characterize the dynamic behavior of a structure with multi degree of freedom from experimentally generated time series of acceleration. Finally, a case study concerning the characterization of the dynamic behavior of a four-story reinforced concrete building is presented. Considering that one of the objectives of the work is to obtain the structural calculation model from BIM model (Building Information Modeling), it is described the BIM concept, the ideology intended in its adoption, its interoperability as well as its practical applicability in relation to a case of academic application. Finally, a case study concerning the characterization of the dynamic behavior of a four-story reinforced concrete building is presented. Firstly, the model is developed through the BIM platform, namely the Revit tool in which integrates the geometric and analytical model. The methodologies of information exchange between this modeling application and the structural calculation program SAP2000 are discussed. The results obtained from the numerical model are compared with the results obtained experimentally by performing the environmental vibration test.
