Abstract(s)
Este estudo centra-se na avaliação e desenvolvimento da qualidade do
atendimento educativo em creche. A literatura indica que as crianças que
frequentam contextos educacionais de qualidade dos 0 aos 3 anos apresentam
maior oportunidade de desenvolvimento físico, cognitivo, social e emocional. O
presente estudo, pretende mostrar o trabalho desenvolvido ao longo de um ano
letivo para uma melhoria na qualidade do atendimento educacional e, deste
modo contribuir para a aprendizagem das crianças. O estudo é de natureza
qualitativa e quantitativa, tendo sido desenvolvido um estudo de caso no
âmbito de uma investigação ação. Participaram 4 salas de creche, 16 crianças
entre os 5 e os 36 meses, 3 educadoras e 5 auxiliares. A recolha de dados foi
realizada com recurso à ITERS-R e às Escalas do Bem Estar e do
Envolvimento da criança. Foram ainda utilizados registos de observação de
forma a compreender e a explicar os dados quantitativos. Os resultados obtidos
mostraram um aumento da qualidade de contexto e ainda um trabalho a
melhorar ao nível do envolvimento, evidenciando uma necessidade de
continuação do trabalho com toda a equipa da creche no que toca ao
envolvimento e bem estar da criança. Desta forma, é fundamental o
investimento no desenvolvimento da qualidade na educação dos 0 aos 3 anos,
reconhecendo os benefícios ao nível da aprendizagem das crianças.
Abstract This paper presents a case study about evaluation and development of the quality of care in the educational context of daycare and on the welfare and involvement of the children who attend it. Literature indicates that children who attend quality educational environments have higher levels of involvement, which leads to learning. The present study aims to show the work developed during an academic year for an improvement in the quality of care and consequent increase of children’s. For this purpose, 4 daycare classrooms, 16 children, 3 daycare teachers and 5 assistants participated in this case study. Data collection was carried out in the children's own educational context and the quality of the context was assessed through ITERS-R and the involvement of children in the activities through the Well-Being and Involvement in Care Scale. Furthermore, observational records were also used to understand and explain the quantitative results obtained. The results obtained showed not only an increase in the quality of the context presented, but also a need to improve in the level of involvement. Thus, indicating a need to continue the work with all the daycare team regarding the involvement and well being of the child. Therefore, investment in the quality of early childhood education is crucial, recognizing the benefits for children's learning.
