Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT This report is part of the Supervised Professional Practice curricular unit in the context of Kindergarten of the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education. The pedagogical practice took place during the months of October to the end of January in a private organization, with a group of 18 children aged 3 years old. The educational action of the Organization was directly related to the pedagogical model of the modern school movement (MEM). The aim of this report is to be critical-reflexive by drawing on pedagogical practice, evidencing the problematic in study and verifying whether or not it was beneficial for those involved. For this purpose, the investigation also had goals to be achieved, such as: (1) identify and analyse children's interest in books and reading; and (2) identify and analyse strategies that promote children's interest in books. The methodology adopted was an investigation into the practice itself for having had mine direct intervention, since was as an adult in the activity room. This same research is a qualitative nature research, and I needed to use techniques and tools for data collection, such as participant observation (Field notes, informal conversations), the observation grids of the activities with the use of audio-visual record, the interviews with the educator and auxiliary cooperates and the photographic records. I conclude by noting that this research is about how the stories and the use of different materials and resources influence the children's interest in the stories and their interest in the literature. This theme was essential for me to consider that "There is no freedom for man but by the way of Creation" (Dussault cited by Martins, 2002, p. 55).
