Do Mestrado em Criação Coreográfica e Práticas Profissionais (MCCPP) ministrado pela
Escola Superior de Dança 2023/2024, nasce o projeto na especialidade de coreografia, A
Coragem de ser Eu.
Este projeto teve como objetivo a criação de dois exercícios coreográficos a partir do mesmo
processo criativo. O primeiro realizou-se com alunos do 3º ano do curso de Intérprete de Dança
Contemporânea do Balleteatro Escola Profissional e o segundo com alunos do 2º ano do curso de
Intérprete de Dança Contemporânea da Escola Artística da Jobra - Art´J.
Em ambas as criações artísticas a pesquisa parte da procura e da descoberta da própria
obra, onde se emancipa a responsabilidade do intérprete enquanto membro influenciador de toda
a criação. Tendo por base uma comunicação simples e honesta, o trabalho centra-se na
exploração das histórias e experiências pessoais através do corpo e voz.
Experienciar duas obras diferentes que partem de um lugar comum e compreender a
derivação dos materiais em cada um dos grupos e seus contextos académicos, dá espaço a
novas questões dentro dos métodos e processos que compõem a esfera da criação artística
contemporânea.
O processo criativo (PC) foi criado no primeiro momento e replicado integralmente para o
segundo, apesar dos contextos diferentes. Assim, a forma como o projeto foi comunicado, a
dimensão criativa e a ordem de enunciados foi executada com uma especial atenção que revela
todo o interesse para esta investigação. No desenvolvimento do projeto, a sua matéria encontrou
questões teóricas em torno da criação coreográfica, nomeadamente sobre o posicionamento do
coreógrafo e do intérprete contemporâneo.
A nível estrutural este relatório de projeto está organizado em quatro capítulos. O
Enquadramento Geral onde abordamos a ampla esfera da criação coreográfica contemporânea
(CCC), a Motivação e o Contexto que reflete e analisa o papel do coreógrafo e do intérprete
contemporâneo, os Métodos e Processos de Criação que aborda todos os elementos associados
à realização do projeto e por fim, a análise individual de ambos os enquadramentos criativos, onde
se reflete e analisa o processo e o resultado.
Uma das principais conclusões que emergem deste processo é a importância da
subjetividade na compreensão das ações comportamentais e pensamentos do intérprete
contemporâneo. Cada intérprete traz as suas próprias experiências e perspectivas para a peça A
Coragem de ser Eu, demonstrando como as narrativas pessoais podem ser uma fonte de
estímulos, capaz de potenciar a criação artística. O coreógrafo ressalta a necessidade de
reconhecer a importância da diversidade de experiências dentro do universo da criação
contemporânea e reivindica um lugar de direção onde transforma e evolui as partituras
coreográficas individuais dissolvendo-as no coletivo.
ABSTRACT - From the Master’s in Choreographic Creation and Professional Practice (MCCPP) of Escola Superior de Dança 2023/2024, the project in the field of choreography, A Coragem de ser Eu is born. This work aimed to create two choreographic exercises from the same creative process. The first was conducted with third year students from the Contemporary Dance Interpreter Course at Balleteatro Escola Profissional, and the second with second year students from the Contemporary Dance Interpreter Course at Escola Artística da Jobra - Art’J. In both artistic creations, the research stems from the search and discovery of the work itself, where the responsibility of the interpreter as an influencing role in the entire creation. Based on simple and honest communication, the work focuses on exploring personal stories and experiences through body and voice. Experiencing two different works that start from a common place and understanding the derivation of materials in each group and their academic contexts, opens up new questions within the methods and processes that compose the sphere of contemporary artistic creation. The creative process was established in the first performance, and replicated entirely in the second, despite the different contexts. The way that the project was communicated, the creative dimension, and the order of statements were executed with particular attention, revealing all the interest for this investigation. In the development of the project, its material encountered theoretical questions surrounding choreographic creation, particularly regarding the positioning of the contemporary choreographer and interpreter. Structurally, this project report is organized in four chapters. The General Framework where we address the broad sphere of contemporary choreographic creation, the Motivation and Context that reflects and analyzes the role of the contemporary choreographer and interpreter, paying special attention to the academic context and the pedagogy inherent in the creative process. The Methods and Creative Processes chapter, discusses all elements associated with the execution of the project. Finally, the Individual Analysis of both Creative Frameworks, reflects about the process, as much as, analyze the final artistic work. One of the main conclusions that emerge from this process, is the importance of subjectivity in understanding the behavioral actions and thoughts of the contemporary interpreter. Each interpreter brings their own experiences and perspectives to the piece A Coragem de ser Eu demonstrating how personal narratives can be a source and stimulus enhancing artistic creation. The choreographer emphasizes the need to recognize the importance of diversity of experiences within the realm of contemporary creation and advocates for a direction role, where it transforms and evolves individual choreographic scores, merging them into the collective in order to find a dramaturgical logic, that might be seen or felt, in the final creation.
