A imagem sempre teve um papel importante na sociedade. O Homem, desde a sua existência, procurou criar formas de representar o mundo que o rodeava. Com o nascimento da fotografia, os fotógrafos passaram a ser reconhecidos como amadores ou profissionais. Também ao longo do desenvolvimento do jornalismo a fotografia tornou-se fundamental no processo de informação da sociedade.
Atualmente, com a evolução tecnológica e o desenvolvimento da internet, a facilidade de tirar e partilhar as fotografias, está ao alcance de grande parte da população. Ou seja, o acesso à fotografia e à imagem encontra-se agora mais facilitado.
Assim, a presente investigação pretende conhecer a opinião de fotojornalistas portugueses relativamente à ação dos fotógrafos amadores na internet e verificar se o facto de qualquer pessoa poder fotografar e publicar fotografias na internet dificultou ou melhorou a prática do fotojornalismo profissional, do ponto de vista dos fotojornalistas.
ABSTRACT: Image has always had an important role in society. Man has, since the beginning, searched for ways to represent the surrounding world. With the birth of photography, photographers became recognized as either professionals or amateurs. Photography has, with the development of journalism, become fundamental in society’s information process. Nowadays, with the evolution of technology and the development of the internet, taking and sharing photographs is in reach of the majority of the population. In other words, access to photography and image is now easier. This investigation aims to know the opinion of the Portuguese photojournalists about amateur photographers’ actions on the internet and if the fact that anyone can take and share photographs on the internet has worsen or improved professional photojournalism practice.
