Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT The present report comes within the ambit of Supervised Professional Practice II (PPSII), with the main objective of presenting a critical and reflective analysis of the process experienced during practice and research, carried out in the context of kindergarten. This process was developed along seven months, with a group of 20 children, in a private socio-educational for-profit organization that adopts the HighScope model. In this document, I will, also, present a reflection of my identity as a future kindergarten teacher. Regarding the research theme - Outer space in a time of pandemic: look(s) and practices in the context of kindergarten - it was by observing the pedagogical practices, carried out in the context where I was inserted, that I verified the central role of outer space in this time of uncertainty. Based on an investigative approach of a qualitative or interpretive nature, this investigation is characterized as a case study. For this purpose, I resorted to direct and indirect observation recorded through field notes and audiovisual recording. In addition, through systematic observation, I collected essential data for the study, during the last two months of practice. The collected data highlight the potential of outer space during a pandemic. The result of a (re)organization, with the objective of filling the several months of imprisonment, the outdoor space became the main stage of the daily dynamics of the socio-educational organization, thus fulfilling the primary objective, highlighted by Macedo et al. (2020) "build an open world, together with children” (p.346). Furthermore, during the investigation, I concluded that, this time of uncertainty brought out the common magic in extraordinary times. It awakened human beings, pointed out their resilience, and made us recognize the value of the human being's ancestral tool – being, exploring, playing outdoors.
