ABSTRACT “The Importance of Children's Drawing in Kindergarten: Parents and Kindergarten Teachers Perspective” is part of a Master degree in Preschool Education, certified by the Lisbon School of Education and results from Supervised Professional Practice held in two socio-educational contexts: Nursery and Kindergarten. The present work aims to reflect and analyze my practice and learning achievement throughout my intervention in both contexts. In addition to the reflective analysis to my practice, the present work highlights the importance of Children's Drawing in Kindergarten and the perspectives that parents and kindergarten teachers have in relation to it. To address this issue, I felt the need to conduct a case study and answer a set of questions related to: the importance given to children's drawings throughout history, the impact of adult-child interactions in the construction of learning, the factors that promote children's graphic productions within a kindergarten room and, finally, the importance that parents and kindergarten teachers give to children’s drawing. As result of the present study, we can suggest that kindergarten teachers, and some parents surveyed, have concerns about children’s drawing. As factors that contribute to children's involvement with drawing, kindergarten teachers stressed the importance of the materials’ quality and diversity, the adults’ and peers’ encouragement, the space adequacy, guidance and exhibition of children's graphic productions, a concern that was reflected in the activities room where my kindergarten SPP took place.
