O presente relatório de estágio foi realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Jornalismo da Escola
Superior de Comunicação Social de Lisboa. A investigação resulta de cinco meses de estágio
curricular na direção de informação da SIC e SIC Notícias e tem como tema central a cobertura
jornalística ambiental antes, durante e após a Conferência sobre as Mudanças Climáticas - COP26.
Sendo que os media estiveram a realizar a sua cobertura jornalística, o objetivo é comparar esse
período ao momento do meu estágio, em que não existe um evento desta natureza. Que tipo de
abordagem se dá ao tema “clima” no momento em que já não há um motivo forte para a sua
cobertura e de que maneira é que a Conferência sobre as Mudanças Climáticas influenciou o
trabalho jornalístico posterior à mesma.
Para tentar discutir se a cobertura aos assuntos ambientais são suficientes neste canal de televisão,
utiliza-se uma metodologia mista, que resulta na análise de dois meses estruturados, um durante o
período de estágio e outro antes desse período (COP26). Tudo isto referente aos seus dois
principais noticiários, o Primeiro Jornal e Jornal da Noite.
Ao mesmo tempo que nos focamos no jornalismo ambiental na SIC, este trabalho pretende
contribuir com reflexões significativas sobre o jornalismo ambiental televisivo em Portugal.
ABSTRACT: This internship report was carried out within the scope of the Master’s in Journalism, taught at School of Communication and Media Studies of the Plytechnic of Lisbon. The research results from five months of curricular internship in the information direction of SIC and SIC News and has as main theme the environmental journalistic coverage before, during and after the Conference on Climate Change - COP26. Since the media has been conducting their journalistic coverage, the goal is to compare this period to the moment of my internship, in which there is no event of this nature. What kind of approach is given to the theme "climate" at a time when there is no longer a strong reason for its coverage and how the Climate Change Conference influenced the journalistic work after it. To try to discuss whether coverage of environmental issues is sufficient in this television channel, a mixed methodology is used, which results in the analysis of two structured months, one during the internship period and the other before this period this to its two main news, the Primeiro Jornal and Jornal da Noite. At the same time that we focus on environmental journalism at SIC, this reserch aims, to contribute significant reflections on television environmental journalism in Portugal.
