O relatório surge no âmbito da Prática Profissional Supervisionada II, do 2.º ano de Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar. Ao longo do relatório pretende-se a apresentação crítica e reflexiva dos processos de intervenção e investigação efetuados no contexto de jardim de infância numa organização socioeducativa de carácter semiprivado, que segue o modelo curricular HighScope. O relatório retrata o período de prática a partir do dia 2 de outubro de 2023 até dia 31 de janeiro de 2024, com um grupo de 25 crianças, com idades entre os 2 e os 4 anos e uma equipa de sala. Ao longo da intervenção deparei-me com conflitos frequentes e diários, entre as crianças do grupo, sendo que, por norma, a sua ação incidia nos confrontos físicos fervorosos. Considerando o modelo curricular, os adultos da sala adotavam uma postura específica nestes momentos. Estas circunstâncias captaram a minha atenção, desenvolvendo um estudo sobre os conflitos e modos de resolução, intitulando-se por: No meio de conflitos: observação de uma sala de jardim de infância. O presente estudo tem como objetivos: i) observar as interações entre pares em situações de conflito e investigar a ação das crianças da sala 8 nos conflitos e na sua resolução; ii) identificar as situações mais frequentes de conflitos observadas no grupo de crianças da sala 8 e iii) analisar o papel do adulto na gestão e resolução de conflito. Na prática metodológica, a investigação assenta numa natureza qualitativa considerando-se um estudo de caso, privilegiando a recolha de dados através de entrevistas semiestruturadas, revisão da literatura e análise de uma amostra de 14 conflitos recolhidos através da observação participante e não participante. Os dados permitiram compreender a predominância do uso da força física, observando-se uma evolução na resolução autónoma de conflitos. Observou-se ainda a predominância de estratégias de mediação por parte do adulto.
The report appears within the scope of Supervised Professional Practice II, of the 2nd year of the master’s degree in Pre-School Education. Throughout the report, the aim is to provide a critical and reflective presentation of the intervention and research processes carried out in the context of kindergarten in a semi-private socio-educational organization, which follows the HighScope curricular model. The report portrays the practice period from October 2 of 2023 until January 31 of 2024, with a group of 25 children, aged between 2 and 4 years old, and a classroom team. Throughout the intervention, I came across frequent and daily conflicts between the children in the group, and normally their actions focused on fervent physical confrontations. Considering the curricular model, the adults in the room adopted a specific posture at these moments. These circumstances captured my attention, developing a study on conflicts and ways of resolving them, entitled: In the midst of conflicts: observation of a kindergarten classroom. The present study aims to: i) observe interactions between peers in conflict situations and investigate the actions of children in room 8 in conflicts and their resolution; ii) identify the most frequent conflict situations observed in the group of children in room 8 and iii) analyze the role of adults in conflict management and resolution. In methodological practice, the investigation is based on a qualitative nature considering a case study, privileging data collection through semi-structured interviews, literature review and analysis of a sample of 14 conflicts collected through participant and non-participant observation. The data allowed me to understand the predominance of the use of physical force, observing an evolution in the autonomous resolution of conflicts. The predominance of mediation strategies on the part of adults was also observed.
