Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT This dissertation has as its object of study the ‘Boca Aberta’ Project (BAP), of the D. Maria II National Theater (DMNT II) developed during the 2018-2019 season. We aim to study, through rigorous investigation processes, a Theater Project for Childhood and, within, understand the connections which were established between the National Theater and the formal educational contexts, namely with children kindergarten teachers from Lisbon. It is an exploratory study, whose research design integrates a qualitative approach and in the interpretative paradigm, resulting from the starting question: To what extent a project of Theater for childhood contributes, in the fruition and teacher training, to the artistic education of the target audiences. (preschoolers and kindergarten teachers)? We established the general objectives of the study: i) understand the factors that lead teachers to participate in a project of theater for children, in the aspects of the training and enjoyment of shows; ii) to know the teachers' artistic-pedagogical appreciations, as well as their perceptions about the children's opinions, regarding the PBA shows; iii) identify initiatives, directly related to the PBA, triggered by the teachers. The instruments and techniques of data collection used were inquiries by questionnaire and semi-structured interview surveys and documentary research, treated through content analysis, statistical treatment and document analysis. We conclude that all teachers involved in this study shown and acknowledge solid skills in the field of Artistic Education and their direct intervention with preschool aged children with a view to promote experimentation and the development of inferential skills and critical thinking, enhanced by their professional experience and training in performing workshops, they provided quality enjoyment practices. The results of the study allow us to infer that the integration of this project over four years had a positive effect on its target audiences - children and educators.
