O mercado é cada vez mais competitivo, está em constante mudança e é bastante instável, pelo que é essencial que as empresas saibam e consigam motivar os seus colaboradores para que estes realizem o seu trabalho da melhor forma porque assim conseguem apresentar melhores resultados e mais facilmente (e em conjunto) alcançar os objetivos coletivos da organização.
Por outro lado, as organizações são sistemas muito complexos que carecem de um estudo detalhado para que se consigam compreender. Assim, através do estudo da motivação organizacional podemos inferir acerca da influência da liderança na mesma.
A liderança é vista como uma ligação entre líderes e colaboradores que presume o desenvolvimento dos níveis de motivação organizacional.
As questões em causa são “o que realmente estimula a motivação?” e “qual o esforço necessário para realizar os objetivos?”. A motivação das pessoas pode estar influenciada pela transformação do ambiente de trabalho, pelos grupos, estilos de liderança abordado pelo líder e pelo clima da empresa, nomeadamente, a sua dimensão (Neves, 2002).
Para isto, irá ser realizado um estudo sobre a influência que a liderança tem na motivação dos colaboradores, com o intuito de perceber de que forma a proximidade com o líder influência a motivação do colaborador e, ao mesmo tempo, se o tipo de liderança que este tem afeta o mesmo, visto que este é um processo fundamental no seu desenvolvimento e crescimento.
The market is increasingly competitive, is constantly changing and is very unstable, so it is essential that companies know how to motivate their employees and be able to do so for them to do their job in the best way possible, doing that will allow them to present more satisfying results, making it easier to achieve the organization’s collective goals. On the other hand, organizations are very complex systems that require a detailed study so we can be able to understand them. Throughout the study of organizational motivation, we can infer about the influence that leadership has on it. Leadership is seen as a link between leaders and employees which presumes the development of organizational motivation levels. The questions at issue are "what really stimulates motivation?" and "what level of effort is needed to achieve the goals?". People's motivation may be influenced by many factors, including the transformation of the work environment, the groups in which they work in, the approaches taken by the leader and the company’s climate (Neves, 2002). With that in mind, a study will be carried out about the influence that leadership has on the motivation of employees, in order to understand how the proximity to the leader influences the motivation of the employee and, at the same time, if the type of leadership that it has affects it, since this is a fundamental process in its development and growth.
