Abstract - Part I - The 1st part of the traineeship report is focused on the application of the pedagogical functional methods, based on observation-reflection activities, to reach a successful teaching-learning process. In order to achieve this, 3 students from distinct levels (Initiation – Basic – Complementary) have been selected and observed for a period of 30 weeks. Between the 1st and final classes, each should have 3 recorded sessions in order to be observed for assessment-reflection of which of the pedagogical functional method are the most effective and which ones require further optimization. For the observation-evaluation of this presentation, the contextualization of the school, characterization of the students, identification of the education practices, critical review of the teachers’ activity and a reflection-conclusion text was performed. This traineeship was initiated on the 1st of October 2013, as integrating part of the masters degree in musical teaching, in accordance to the established parameters by the Escola Superior de Musical de Lisboa. However, at that time classes were already ongoing since the opening of the school year and therefore the period of observation took the 30 weeks previously mentioned. The specialized traineeship in musical teaching took place in the Escola das Artes do Alentejo Litoral, where I am currently a cello professor since the 2009/2010 school year.
Abstrcat - Part II - The second part of the traineeship report is focused on researching alternatives during instrumental classes so that the creative development of a student can occur and evolve both in fluidness and depth. Despite creativity being considered as a natural competence to any child, its development needs to be stimulated to see a significant evolution during the musical education period. Therefore its intended to investigate ways to stimulate the development of the musical creativity, within the musical instrument class and how it was work as a pedagogical tool for the intrinsic motivation of any student and consequently result in a bigger involvement in the teaching-learning process.
