Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT - The presenting report was developed within the curricular internship of the 8th edition Master's Course in Dance Education (MED), from Escola Superior de Dança (ESD), integrating part of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (IPL), taking course on the 2019/2020 academic year. The internship was held at the National Conservatory's Artistic Dance School (EADCN), a vocational artistic teaching school, with integrated education, which aims to train professional dancers in the field of classical and contemporary dance, with 6th grade students in the subjects of Contemporary Dance Technique and Contemporary Repertoire. This report resulted from a set of classes taught in the scope of the aforementioned internship, whose main aim was to develop and demonstrate the qualities of suspension and continuity of movement, from Faun solo piece, by Sidi Larbi. Contributing to the progression in students' technical and artistic learning, providing a link between technical and artistic work, to enrich vocabulary in search of a more conscious and awake body for movement, focusing on two premises: connected movement and suspended movement. Additionally, we tried to contribute to diversify teaching methodologies of these subjects, always respecting the established syllabus by EADCN, but finding new stimuli and impulses to develop them. The study was carried out using the action-research method, using the following instruments for data collection: observation tables, logbook and video recording. From a pedagogical practice divided between structured observation, accompanied participation, supervised teaching of classes and other activities related to the cooperating school.
