Abstract(s)
O cemitério em Portugal é muitas vezes visto como um local desagradável e do
qual se quer distância. Nem sempre foi assim e a própria relação entre a humanidade e a
morte foi mudando ao longo do tempo. E, na verdade, o cemitério pode até ser um
espaço dinamizador da cultura e da História, no qual a comunicação pode ter um papel
importante, indo ao encontro da sua valorização e dinamização. De forma a
compreender melhor o papel que a comunicação poderá desempenhar e os desafios para
a preservação deste tipo de espaço, foram contatados inúmeros cemitérios, tanto em
Portugal como a nível internacional, com a aplicação de inquéritos por e-mail. Assim,
com o presente trabalho, pretende-se ficar a conhecer a atual realidade portuguesa
respeitante à comunicação nestes espaços, assim como as boas práticas de preservação
já aplicadas.
ABSTRACT: The cemeteries in Portugal are most seen as an unpleasant place from which people want distance. However, this has not always been the case and the relationship between humanity and death has been shipped along the time. And, in fact, the cemetery is even a promotion space of culture and history, in which communication may have an important role, such as its valorization and promotion. To better understand the role communication may play and the challenges to preserve this kind of space, the author contacted several cemeteries, in Portugal as well as all over the world, applying inquires by questionnaire via e-mail. So, with this work, it is intended to know the Portuguese reality about communication in these spaces, such as good practices already being applied.
