Propõe-se neste texto uma análise
da últimas obras de João Paulo Queiroz
(n.1966). Tratam-se de várias séries de pequenas
pinturas executadas a pastel de óleo
sobre papel de pequeno formato. A partir das
exposições realizadas da galeria de arte da
Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de
Lisboa (2016) e na Sala da Grande Guerra do
Museu Militar de Lisboa (2017) procura-se definir
e aclarar os conceitos subjacentes a uma
prática de pintura, que denominamos de “sistemática”,
cujas vicissitudes (do seu próprio
processo, dos tempos e lugares em que que
foram produzidas e exibidas) parecem exceder
o que estas pequenas pinturas poderão
ingenuamente sugerir.
Abstract: This text proposes an analysis of the latest works by João Paulo Queiroz (b.1966). These are several series of small paintings executed on oil pastels on small paper formats. From the exhibitions held at the Art Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (2016) and at the Great War Room of the Military Museum of Lisbon (2017), the aim is to define and clarify the concepts underlying a painting practice, which we call “systematics”, whose vicissitudes (of their own process, of the times and places in which they were produced and exhibited) seem to exceed what these little paintings may naively suggest.
