Abstract(s)
Pandemia COVID 19, as atividades letivas passaram ร modalidade de Ensino ร Distรขncia,
em marรงo de 2020 atรฉ ao final do ano letivo.
da Serra de Carnaxide no 5ยบ ano de escolaridade;
crianรงas.
escolaridade;
- Sensibilizar as crianรงas para a necessidade de defender a biodiversidade.
ABSTRACT This Environmental Education Project arose from the motivation in developing a didactic intervention about the Biodiversity of Serra de Carnaxide, while promoting children's contact with this ecosystem. Given the confinement motivated by COVID 19 Pandemic, teaching activities changed to Distance Learning in March 2020 until the end of the school year. For this reason, it was not possible to integrate a field trip into the didactic intervention. The general objectives of this Project, which also had an investigative dimension, were then defined: - To study the contributions of a didactic intervention on the local Biodiversity of Serra de Carnaxide in 5th year of schooling; - To explore the potential of Distance Learning in Environmental Education focused on local Biodiversity, in the 5th year of schooling. It was then possible to define the following didactic objectives: - To promote the acquisition of knowledge about local Biodiversity by children. - To educate for the importance of preserving local Biodiversity, in the 5th year of schooling; - To make children aware of the need to preserve biodiversity. The activities, in distance learning, on Biodiversity in Serra de Carnaxide, included the exploration of a Virtual Visit about the Biodiversity of Serra de Carnaxide, a brainstorm on the loss of biodiversity in that Serra, with the Padlet tool, and a ludic activity, with the Kahoot tool, on Biodiversity in the Serra de Carnaxide. For data collection, a pre and a post-test were also used. The results obtained with the three dynamic didactic activities allowed to confirm that there was learning and awareness about the loss of local Biodiversity, with distance learning. It was also confirmed that children are more knowledgeable and more interested in animal than in plant diversity.
