Abstract(s)
As part of the Master in Financial Analysis, at Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração de Lisboa, which gives students, in the second year of the Master, the opportunity to undertake an internship in a company and area related to the Master, I chose to carry out an internship report as final work. The company in which I had the opportunity to be na intern for 6 months, from 10/09/19 to 03/09/2019, was Caixa Leasing e Factoring SA inserted in the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Group, with a huge weight in specialized credit in Portugal, which has seen a significant growth in specialized credit products available to its customers. There are many entities who resort to specialized credit, mainly companies in the initial phase, since they cannot easily obtain credit from banking institutions and resort to alternatives to be able to meet their needs and grow in the market. Leasing, factoring and car credit are viable alternatives, in which the list of requirements is not so long for approval and the granting of credit becomes easier. Over the years, there has been a marked growth in the number of entities that use specialized credit worldwide. Associated with this type of banking operations are topics such as Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism. Alongside the continuous global development, the crimes of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing have been a constant, with regard to the evolution of the methods used to achieve them and with regard to the irreparable effects that they have brought to the world economy. Financial institutions are increasingly burdened with prevention and control policies and procedures, as well as the watchful eyes of all entities responsible for supervising and complying with all legal regulations.
