Abstract(s)
Nesta investigação, damos voz a algumas dessas
ABSTRACT: The present dissertation, which is part of the problematic of the feminization of newsrooms in the occidental world in the 20th and 21st centuries, has as its objective the mapping of women war reporters in Portugal. The first women to face the paradigms and stereotypes of society to assume themselves as journalists faced discouraging and discriminatory conditions. But once these barriers were overcome, some had the rare and privileged opportunity to leave their mark in an area considered elite, where few had the chance to enter. In this research, we give voice to some of these women, building, through semi directive interviews, their biographical and professional profiles as war reporters. The study concluded that the few women war reporters in Portugal, besides a baggage full of stories, all had and have a common goal: to brave the world to tell the truth and report on events, in this case in hostile territory, areas where conflict rules and History happens.
