ABSTRACT This document presents the project, carried out under the Master of Social Education and Community Intervention, to promote and dinamize a Community Library as an intergenerational space. This project was carried out in an IU in the Municipality of Almada and was built with the collaboration of the technicians and students of the University as well as of all those that acceded to participate in all the activities promoted within the same. The methodology used in the implementation of this project was Research- Participatory Action, since it allowed the involvement among all the social actors involved in the project. Through the conversations, meetings and experiences within the territory sought to identify the problems and needs. The main objective of this project was the implementation of a Community Library by the students and technicians of the UI through the use of a participatory methodology, in which construction of the Community Library was made by UI students and could serve a territory where this need was felt. The construction and development of this project was only possible with the collaboration of the technical team and with the participation of IU students, through the analysis of the needs for the moments of sharing, dialogue, negotiation and flexibility to adapt the proposed objectives. The present Intervention Project was developed by four distinct phases: in the first one the identification of the problematic was made as well as the diagnosis of the necessities of the intervention; the second phase, was followed by project planning taking into account the needs identified previously; the third phase, was intended to implement the project; and, finally, in the fourth phase the project evaluation was done. This project allowed the territory where the intervention was made to become richer, and the IU students to become involved in the organization and dynamization of the Community Library.
